The Largest Stone Carving in the Forbidden City

Pin It Now!

This is a photo of the largest stone carving in the Forbidden City taken in December 2006 when my wife I took a short trip through China. It is a huge (16.75 meters long, 3.07 meters wide, 1.7 meters thick) marble relief with interlocking lotus patterns all around it, curling waves at the bottom and nine dragons amidst clouds playing with pearls.

The photo doesn’t really do it much justice and if sculptures are something you are in to, it is something that is worth seeing for yourself if you haven’t already been through the Forbidden City which in itself is an amazing experience.

  2. F-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c ! I was looking for similar projects last week, and now i see this post. I normally use breadboard to do this type of work, with one of these, job will be more easy. I was thinking, and searching others projects to do my own PCB. So, let me try my luck, maybe i can win.
