Graffiti in Wellington

A random house on a street close to the Wellington CBD with some interesting graffiti on its wall. Graffiti is a problem around New Zealand and as a result businesses and various councils have been spending a lot of money cleaning up graffiti. This particular piece of work however has been there for a while and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. I guess the people who live there like it like that.

Instead of putting up specials on the alcohol in-store, the Mill Liquor Store Upper Hutt just down the road from decided to put up a sign laying out their thoughts on alcohol and baby making

Hollow Tree - Orongorongo Track, Rimutaka Forest

At the weekend I went through the Rimutaka Forest on a short 5km walk with my family and a couple of friends. This was something different from the day to day suburban life that we live and it was good to experience all the different sights and sounds nature has to offer. One of the more interesting things was the hollow tree we came across on the Orongorongo track.

Millions and Billions of Useless Dollars

These a few notes of the millions and billions of dollars from the land I call home. I really don’t have a lot to say…….just lost for words.

Samara from Samaria - 1 Kings 16:24

Why did I take a photo of a page in the bible? That page is of particular importance to me because that is where I ended up when I was trying to think of a name for my daughter. I was really struggling with coming up with a name for her and one day I decided that I would turn to the Bible and see what I came up with. When I opened it up and fanned through the pages, Kings 16 is where I ended up. After reading a few lines Samaria popped right up and I immediately thought Samara!

Samara is a name of Hebrew and Arabic origin, and its means "guardian or protected by God; night talk". We eventually had a few choice lined up but her mother and I settled on Samara right after she was born because of her ‘traumatic’ birth. God really was watching over her at the time.

Footstep in the Sand

I was at the beach the other day with my wife and daughter. My wife left a footprint in the sand and I decided to take a photo of it.
