Qantas used to be one of the few airlines flying domestically. In 2009 they decided to stop flying New Zealand domestic routes which were taken over by their budget airline Jetstar.

This photo is of a Cathay Pacific flight landing in Auckland from Hong Kong (HKG). It was only 3 or so months ago that I was landing in Auckland on that particular flight after a nice a long vacation. One of these days I wouldn’t mind heading back to Hong Kong and spending a few months there to really get a feel for the place. Hong Kong is a fantastic place to visit.

The previous photo I posted was of an Emirates Airbus A340-500 landing at AKL. About half an hour after that another Emirates flight came in to land. This photo is of an Airbus A380-800 arriving from Dubai International Airport (DXB) via Kingsford Smith (Sydney) International Airport (SYD). Watching such a huge aircraft coming in for a landing is a very impressive sight.
